Terms of use
The site
Almanauts is an independent, fan-made reference for video games. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Free to use
Every page and tool is free, with no paid tier and nothing locked. Donations are voluntary, unlock nothing and aren't refundable except where the law requires.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for personal, non-commercial play and research.
- Linking to any page, and quoting a few numbers with a link back, is welcome.
- Don't copy the site or its datasets wholesale, don't scrape it in ways that strain it (keep automated requests to about one per second), and don't try to bypass security controls or access restricted areas.
- Don't use the site to break a game's terms of service or to cheat in online play.
Accounts
- Accounts are optional and free. Everything on the site works without one.
- You sign in with Google or Discord. We only receive what the privacy policy lists: your account id at that service and the service's name, nothing else.
- An account is for one thing: syncing your saved progress, builds and lists between your devices.
- You can delete your account at any time on the Your data page. Deleting it removes the synced data from our database straight away.
- Keep your account to yourself; don't share your sign-in.
- We may suspend an account that abuses the service, which in practice means automated hammering of the site or attacks on it.
- If we ever end accounts, we'll say so on the site in advance, and you can download everything your account holds from the Your data page first.

Accuracy and no warranty
We compile numbers from in-game data and testing, re-check them on every patch, and each page shows the build its data is for. Even so, games change and mistakes happen. The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for losses from relying on it, to the extent the law allows. If you find an error, please tell us; fixes are listed on the corrections page.
Games, trademarks and assets
Almanauts is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game developer or publisher. Game names, logos, text, icons and other assets belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification, reference and commentary. Rules and formulas are explained in our own words.
Copyright and takedown requests
If you own rights in material on the site and want it changed or removed, email hello@almanauts.com with the subject "Takedown", and include:
- who you are and the work you represent;
- the exact page addresses (URLs) and what on them you object to;
- how to reach you;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
We acknowledge notices within 3 working days, and remove or change the material quickly while we look into it. If you think something was removed by mistake, reply to the same thread.
Changes
If these terms change, we update the effective date above. Material changes are noted in the change log.
